EKO, as a huge Cash fan, I was beyond thrilled to see When the Man Comes Around given a place in your essay. It's a song that I have been playing over and over since its initial release. He captured a magic with that one that still makes me stop breathing. I love reading you. Thank you so much.
Christian friend who enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash's voice even when I couldn't even speak nor understand English.
And I've no word, just cries and tears at the time I just want to thank you because I never sought to know this story, this marvelous parable coming straight out of this cave !
Thank you for this powerful text which moves me so deeply and strongly while I'm crawling towards His Light !

I am with you Friend EKO...after a tough violent life, I BELIEVE FULLY! I was Lost but now I'm Found. I have been with Johnny Cash from "I WALK the LINE" to "GOD'S GONNA CUT YOU DOWN"...the "HURT" of those lost, wasted years is REAL! Help me through to the END...you have a special gift!
Hurt is hard to watch. It makes me tear up every time, but it is important to watch. Whenever someone new does a reaction on YouTube you see them breakdown and cry, every one.
For a more fun experience, I love and recommend the Highwaymen concerts with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson.
The Highwaymen are truly amazing, listen to them almost everyday via Pandora. Waylon Jennings is my favorite out of the artists who were the original Outlaw Country but Cash is not far behind.
Willie Nelson has a voice that you could listen to if he was just reading the listings in a phone book. All 4 of their voices complement each other so well.
This is wild. I just added about 6-8 Johnny Cash songs to my playlist. Yes, we all heard of him on some "popular" TV shows as a kid, but really really unique performer. Thanks again.
Thanks for telling about Johnny Cash. I grew up in the 1950s but had never paid attention to him, and was surprised to read your description of how similar his struggles in life were to my own. I can certainly identify with his slogan, "Jesus is real. The door is open. I'm proof."
So good to hear you talk about the man. As a young Christian 18 years old in 1973, I absolutely loved the album βThe Gospel Roadβ. So down to earth. The songs from that album are still great today.

EKO -- You are a righteous dude and I'm glad you're here.
Big fan, @James Howard Kunstler. Read you in school.

If I'm not mistaken, Mother Maybelle Carter had a significant part in keeping Mr Cash reminded of Salvation. It is in an amazing testament.
