My late father landed on Omaha Beach, June 6,1944. Dad was a frontline combat infantryman, and I have his medals to prove it. He then fought at St. Lo and would finish his military service at the Battle of the Bulge.
He opined when I was a kid that General Patton was murdered - and this was in the 1950s!
