Thank you for this fascinating, well-documented, and illuminating primer on military psychological operations, EKO.

I especially appreciate these observations in light of my own efforts to help people recover from menticide (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/letter-to-the-menticided-a-12-step) and resist tyranny through art, creativity, and love:

• “By 2006, DARPA shifted its focus from psychology to biology. They realized persuading humans with logic is inefficient compared to overriding survival instincts at the chemical level.”

• “Rage trends faster than complexity because it requires less cognitive processing. Your mind is being optimized for transmission at the expense of critical thought.”

• “This is why authoritarian regimes fear Art.”

I got a DVD with several of the Snafu shorts on it years ago. I did a propaganda unit in my government class (high school seniors). They Loved it. The best one is “rumors.” I understand that they became so popular that when they showed Hollywood films “in country” there was a near riot if they didn’t include a Snafu shirt. Very effective.

The government of Canada, under Justin Trudeau, established the "Impact & Innovation Unit" working in the Privy Council Office (ie: under the Prime Minister) to "guide" the government's communications and policies using behavioural science analysis to "nudge" public opinion. They're not even trying to hide the fact they're no longer serving the public; the public serves the government.
