I just finished reading the Magi this morning - the dust of the roads is still stirred up by my feet - it's still resonating like a struck bell in my heart - Thank You for bringing that story to life for my understanding -
They have all gone way too far. Maybe the 500 million they wanted to limit the population to is the 500 million that need to be a grease spot on the pavement and the public records for cause, with extreme prejudice. I have no cheeks left to turn.
"I am more and more convinced that we "hoomans" - hairless monkeys are still following a "big man" tribal model and haven't really progressed too far away from that. Nordic Europeans had the "pting" = the meeting of the village or group to settle arguments and vendettas, murders, and administrative functions in raising crops, hunting and fishing and distribution because it made more sense to cut up the deer and distribute it because refrigeration and freezing only worked in winter. There was also the All-pting where neighboring bands met to settle disputes set up trade and make defense alliances or create war on threatening tribes. This all worked pretty well in small group, low population peoples. As populations grew and agriculture and tech grew government became more complicated resulting the golden rule = He who has the gold makes the rules. We can dress it how we want = Kings and Queens, Priests and Popes industry leaders, and money lenders, banks and central banks. But, it is really all still the same model as the tribal bands writ large.
So. where do we common people stand? What are our real rights and freedoms? I think about the book Walkaway by Cory Doctorow = a story of walking away from "non-work", and surveillance and control by a brutal, immensely rich oligarchical elite, as one possibility.
Or, moving to the fringes and living more like our tribal ancestors, which when one thinks about it is what is happening with a fair amount of elderly and with many younger people who have been "down sized" from jobs and really no longer participate. This is why I see so many YouTube videos of people living in cars and vans and in tiny houses off grid.
I would like to know more about Nixon. I went to 👀 G. Gordy Lindsey in college. What I took away is that no matter what "they do to you", they can never take away your knowledge. Life long learner, just not always they "correct stuff".
