Seek a place of worship that is focused on relationship with Jesus Christ, believes the entire word not selected parts, encourages personal Bible study, and does not judge but accepts and encourages you in your journey. Jesus welcomed ALL. That’s an inclusive word, not exclusive. Anyone, everyone can be changed by the indwelling Holy Spirit. When you have that salvation encounter with Jesus, He will give you His spirit to lead and guide you. I pray you find the church home Jesus has waiting for you.
Heather try and find one where the focus is on studying scripture deeply because a lot of churches these days just talk about feel-good topics. Someone here mentioned Calvary chapel, I would go if one was near my town, but they tend to be very biblically focused.
Thank you for this story, EKO. I was involved in a prison ministry for a while and it made me very grateful for my life and my experiences, even the bad ones. I think that betrayal and grief has opened my soul somehow so that I was able to receive some kind of peace. One day I was taking a walk around the capitol building where I worked and there was another woman out walking and I recognized her from the ministry at the prison. We talked for a while and she told me that she was paroled and on the job with probation almost over and she was very grateful that she went to prison because she found Jesus there and it changed her life and everything about her, and she thanked me for coming every week. That encounter with her changed my attitude (again) and I'm grateful for that too. I pray every day and it amuses me every year to see the tv commentators talking about whether we should have a national day of prayer. I used to think that we should send them to one of the muslim countries where the call to prayer comes five times a day and the shopkeepers are fined if they don't run people out and close the shops, and anyone out on the street gets picked up and taken to jail and fined. Its only a suggestion to pray in US, and there is no jail time for not praying, but they seem to think its a problem. There are so many lost angry people who don't know what they don't want and don't know what to do about it. So many sad people to pray for.
Hebrews 10:25. Our sermon this morning was in 1 John. He talked about how Christians are to love each other, not in a shallow way but in action. And it's by how we love our brothers and sisters in Christ that we exhibit God's love to the world. And the world is watching. I've heard a lot of believers make excuses about not needing to go to church to be close to God, but I think we see from Jesus that the human part of him needed fellowship, I think of how distraught he was that no one could stay awake when he prayed before his crucifixion. He also had his small circle that he was very close with. I hope you find your own circle of strong friends in your church that you can have special fellowship with.We are supposed to go to church to worship obviously but also to strengthen each other in a world that hates us. I'm so happy you made this step.
As I listen to the voice inside me and the tears began to fall in pure joy, I recall the dream I had early this morning of being in a crowd of evil people and seeing a demon being worshiped. I tried to pull my gun to shoot them but the only thing I could do was declare Jesus Christ is my King and Saviour and woke up instantly afterward. I later read your words and then the voices at the Capital Mall being raised in prayer and song. I am confident today is a day of change! God bless us all!! Glory to God !!!

When you have that salvation encounter with Jesus, He will give you His spirit to lead and guide you. I pray you find the church home Jesus has waiting for you.
Heather try and find one where the focus is on studying scripture deeply because a lot of churches these days just talk about feel-good topics. Someone here mentioned Calvary chapel, I would go if one was near my town, but they tend to be very biblically focused.

Thank you for this story, EKO. I was involved in a prison ministry for a while and it made me very grateful for my life and my experiences, even the bad ones. I think that betrayal and grief has opened my soul somehow so that I was able to receive some kind of peace. One day I was taking a walk around the capitol building where I worked and there was another woman out walking and I recognized her from the ministry at the prison. We talked for a while and she told me that she was paroled and on the job with probation almost over and she was very grateful that she went to prison because she found Jesus there and it changed her life and everything about her, and she thanked me for coming every week. That encounter with her changed my attitude (again) and I'm grateful for that too. I pray every day and it amuses me every year to see the tv commentators talking about whether we should have a national day of prayer. I used to think that we should send them to one of the muslim countries where the call to prayer comes five times a day and the shopkeepers are fined if they don't run people out and close the shops, and anyone out on the street gets picked up and taken to jail and fined. Its only a suggestion to pray in US, and there is no jail time for not praying, but they seem to think its a problem. There are so many lost angry people who don't know what they don't want and don't know what to do about it. So many sad people to pray for.
Hebrews 10:25. Our sermon this morning was in 1 John. He talked about how Christians are to love each other, not in a shallow way but in action. And it's by how we love our brothers and sisters in Christ that we exhibit God's love to the world. And the world is watching. I've heard a lot of believers make excuses about not needing to go to church to be close to God, but I think we see from Jesus that the human part of him needed fellowship, I think of how distraught he was that no one could stay awake when he prayed before his crucifixion. He also had his small circle that he was very close with. I hope you find your own circle of strong friends in your church that you can have special fellowship with.We are supposed to go to church to worship obviously but also to strengthen each other in a world that hates us. I'm so happy you made this step.

As I listen to the voice inside me and the tears began to fall in pure joy, I recall the dream I had early this morning of being in a crowd of evil people and seeing a demon being worshiped. I tried to pull my gun to shoot them but the only thing I could do was declare Jesus Christ is my King and Saviour and woke up instantly afterward.
