EKO, I enjoy so much of your work. However, I honestly don't understand the point of these fictional stories.

The parables were anonymous

Hello from France 🇫🇷, Conscious Observer !

You're right, mainly because the parables were mostly (or always ?) about FACTS.

They made us question the FACTS using Jesus' mindset and love...

Now, regarding clearly named well-known characters, why should we stop us from questioning the characters as well?

I can't answer for EKO. For me, from my experience, they make me feel. Beyond intellect. Beyond thinking. I know they are fiction, yet they touch my heart and, in touching my heart, leave me more receptive to the non-fiction of my faith and openness to God's Gifts.

Hello from France 🇫🇷, George !

I concur 💯 with your stand because I wrote similar feelings:

We need to reflect freely and in full conscience to sort ourselves what is fiction and what is meaningful for God and should be as well for us ...

Just an educated guess: patience and thoughtful reflection will be rewarded.
